Quantifiers, Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Dragi osmaci, danas ćemo da se malo bavimo gramatikom. Countable i uncountable nouns ste radili još u petom razredu, ali malo ćemo se podsetiti.
Countable nouns refer to things you can count and they have both singular and plural form.
Brojive imenice se odnose na  pojmove koje možete da brojite i one imaju i jedninu i množinu.
Example: Girl - girls
Uncountable nouns refer to things you cannot count, and they to not have plural form, they only have singular form.
Nebrojive imenice es odnose na pojmove koje ne možete da brojite, nemaju množinu, imaju samo jedninu.
Example: money.

Sada prelazimo na quantifiers ili kako se u srpskom jeziku nazivaju izrazi za količinu.
Tu imamo: SOME, ANY, MUCH, MANY, A LOT OF, A FEW i A LITTLE.

SOME / ANY
Oba označavaju neodređenu količinu i mogu se prevesti kao nešto, malo, a nekada se ne moraju ni prevoditi. Razlikuju se po tome što se some upotrebljava u potvrdnim rečenicama, a any u odričnim i upitnim.

Have you got any friends in England?

Some se može ponekad koristiti u upitnim rečenicama i to u slučaju kada očekujemo potvrdan odgovor ili kada se nešto traži, a takođe se očekuje potvrdan odgovor.
